Taken last fall during the wildfires. Smoke filled the valley, allowing for some nice rays.

Very nicely processed. This is a tough shot to take. You maintained the exposure balance very well.

Thanks Jay. It was challenging. Most of the file is from one exposure. Had to incorporate one other file though.

Nice rays, indeed! I love the bright yellow splashes of color, and the sharp peaks of the distant mountains. Beautiful! The river is also a beautiful element. You've handled both highlights and shadows really well, here. Well done!

This is nice and very different. I guess, smoke helped here. Beautiful colors and love the rays. Great capture and processing.

Really nice sun rays and love the details retained in all the foreground. Guess the smoke acted like a pretty decent GND filter. Beautiful image.

WOW! Pretty impressive exposure control. This is a single exposure? Anyway, really nice light, and rays, to go with a nice comp.

I love those spots of yellow sprinkled throughout, and the smoke creates a cool effect in the sky.

Ron,

Great job with handling the extreme contrast and exposure. The capture of the rays and subdued "sundog" effect are wonderful in the background and sky. At first I was thinking about cropping out the entire foreground, but in the end I really like the backlit autumn color and I think it frames the scene beautifully. Nice capture from this famous overlook.

Beautifully composed, and I especially like the touches of yellow thought the scene, and of course the rays. Excellent work Ron.

Shweet!! Love those rays. Its a tough exposure to get and you did a good job of it. I would have preferred more foreground to add interest to the image. Love those fall colors too. winter must be amazing here!
