This shot was taken at an arboretum near my home with a Fuji S3 PRO DSLR, with a Nikkor 18-135mm Lens.

I love the rich red against the dark bg, and the delicate pinks and cream colors are beautiful :toast:

Beautiful image Richard. My only suggestion would have been to try and avoid cutting the petal at the top. The color gradations are really nice and I like the bg very much.

Richard, this is stunning! Only suggestion I might make is to tone down the green leaf LLC.

Very pretty, it looks like a painting. I agree you could use more room at the top, however, still a wonderful image to view.

Beautiful lighting, Richard, and a neat composition ( though it would have been nice to see the tip of the upper petal )

Oh, is this ever a lovely portrait of a glamorous Rose! Needs a little more room at the top for the petal (can do by extending the canvas) or a little shave off the top to make the clip of the petal look more intentional. Love the range of greens seen in the leaves, and the black bg really sets off the subject.

Richard: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a fine first post here. Other than the tight top I think this is excellent. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more.>=))>
