A snow scene at Corni di Canzo, italian Alps.
Somebody passed there before us!
Thanks for looking.

More than just one "somebody," it would appear! A very striking mountain. As far as critiquest, I think that the mid-tones could be a bit brighter, as could the blue sky. Otherwise the only drawback is the footprints in the snow . . . I don't know if you could have avoided them by moving a bit further right, but it's not a big deal in any event.

The footprints are a bummer for me. This would have been a lot more appealing if the snow were fresh and undisturbed, but thats mostly out of your control obviously. I do like the composition and lines created by the two intersecting slopes. The lines create good movement into, and through the scene.

Excellent compostion with or without traces of "the feet of man."
Other than the extra-dark sky, I can't find anything to complain about! I get the feeling that something is leading me to go where the tracks are, and turn right to follow the slope to the peak.

Very lovely scenic and no doubt a fantastic view from here. The sky and snow are slightly dark most likely from the meter compensating for the bright snow. You didn't mention one, but I'm wondering if a polarizer was used as well - which works fine for me.
Alas.... the footprints. So far it's been in everyone's comments and I would agree it's hard to ignore and a pretty significant part of the composition - even though I'm sure you and everyone wish they weren't there. Anyway, to remain consistent as best we can I'm going to move this to Man & Nature. If you have any questions or wish to discuss, feel free to contact me or one of the other moderators. Thanks!

Lon, we are really sorry for the misplacement of the photo. We were not sure about where to post and at the end we decided for HSS. M&N is fine as well. This was taken on a very popular footpath around these mountains.
From the technical point of view: we didn't use a polarizing filter, the saturation of the sky is probably due to the meter compensation and to the very cold day.
Thank you all for the kind comments and suggestions.
