Face-off - Perch for One

I often think of butterflies as beautiful, carefree creatures flapping around and enjoying themselves. In truth, they are subjected to the rules of survival of the fittest like all living things: defending ones territory, finding mates and food. I have seen many butterflies with damaged wings from skirmishes with others. This image kind of capture the real situation and I like the tension portrayed.

D90, Nikkor105, iso800, F4.5, 1/3200s, tripod, sunny November afternoon, 50% crop. I hope I have not oversharpen this image and suggestions on post processing appreciated (I have just started using CS4 and currently at the bottom of the the steep learning curve :frown: ).

You have a point there Gary. I like the way you've captured this side of the creatures' life; details, colours and bg are all great. I don't think I'm qualified to comment on sharpening, but I do like this image as it is. Well done.
