Found several of these old windswept pines on the ridgeline just past Rainbow Curve on Trail Ridge Road. This was a great location both at sunrise and sunset. This is one of my favorite evening shots. All comments welcome. ><>

I like it lots! Nice colors, good light, like the low camera angle to isolate the tree against the sky, good lens choise to include surroundings.

Bill,

I love the composition and the way the gnarled pine serves as a framing device. This is certainly my favorite from the RMNP revisited series.

My only nit is that part of the tree seems a bit bright to me and might benefit from a little burning.

I also thought about a crop from the LH side, but then I decided that I like the depth perception provided by the distant slope. Nice job.

I love the composition, but it seems a little soft to me. I would love to see the grain come out in the tree trunk. It's really nice setting- Congratulations.

Bill,

This is very nice. What a georgeous intimate.

I have only been to Rocky Mountain National Park once and I was stunned by its beauty. I wish I could return.

Bill:

I love these bristlecones but haven't been able to photograph them in such a great way, as you've done here. The dark BG to the left of the bottom of the trunk is great because it provides some separation. Excellent work!

Thanks for sharing.

I love this photo, Bill! Great shot! I also like the way that the action of the wind, so evident in the main subject, is echoed in the rightward tilt of the younger tree at center right.

I've got a couple of shots of these trees that are okay, but this is outstanding! I love the clouds, they add to the image's dynamic feel.

Bill my comments will echo Geoff's. I particularly like how your main subject and the small pine to the right demonstrate how one tree has suscumbed to the ravages of elements and time and the young tree fights to survive those same elements. Great capture all around!

Bill, I like the way the pine claws at the sky. I like the flowing lines and the texture of the pine and the lines in the rock beyond
