Wow, gorgeous lighting! I love his pose, open mouth, and awesome horns. For me the best part though is the background! A really neat mood! Thanks for sharing!

What a great shot. It looks like he is talking. I really like how soft the background is, and the detail is great. Awesome photo.

Very majestic looking ram. Really like the lip curl and the wear and tear on the horns. Could be just a little lighter.

A very nice shot. Great DOF and composition. The background is great and so is the light. Excellent work.

Contrast on the Ram against the white snow is really excellent...the mountain line in the background enhances the image too...well done

Very nice Dan, that soft pink pastel colored sky really makes this special. The detail on the Ram is excellent and the curled lip adds yet another dimension!

Hi Dan,
Nice, unique shot of a commonly photographed species (i.e., stands out nicely from the crowd!) - well done. I am left wondering if the snow isn't a bit too warm, but this is definitely one of those "I wasn't there so could be totally out to lunch" sort of comments! I also wonder if just a TAD of brightening on the ram ONLY (like 1/3 of stop max) would make it pop just that much more (and still look very natural). One VERY minor processing thing (which could well be due to compressing the image to get to the size limit for this website) - I see JPEG artifacting (banding) in both the small and large versions - it's noticeable in the upper left corner...
But overall - very nicely done! Thanks for sharing this...

Thanks for all the great comments. Brad, I like your suggestions. Here is a repost with the snow a little cooler, and the ram a little lighter. I think I see the banding, but not sure how to remove it. I tried to improve it by blurring the left upper corner.
