Wood Frog

I was looking for a nice Jack-in-the-Pulpit when I spotted one of my favorite wetlands dwellers. The wood frog stayed so still that I left my camera on the “flower” settings, and got away with this 2-second exposure.

Wayne,

I've only come across 1 of these on Long Island and they sure are a great subject Perfect exposure and I love the fern that is sort of a frame for the frog.

Hi Wayne,

Very nice capture - and amazing it still enough to allow a two second exposure. The image looks very sharp and the overall colour scheme works quite well for me. I agree with Luke on the nice framing provided by the fern.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

'Flower' setting!? I like that. 2 Seconds is certainly long for a frog, amazing. Overall a very good image Wayne. Like the others I also like how the fern frames the subject. :toast:

Wayne,
I love wood frogs too, but this is far better than my wood frog pictures. I agree with everyone else that the fern and the background vegetation help frame the frog. The eye is amazing! And a two second exposure?!?!?! Wow! I've tried long exposures for toads before, and they always move on me! Nice work! :toast:
