Frosted Cattails

I really enjoy this Flora Forum but living here in Michigan I don't have any color to offer it for the next few months. :frown: Here's a photo of some cattails I took after a slight warm spell. The warm temps created some fog which blanketed everything with frost as it cooled. The photo was taken late evening with a dark sky overhead.
Manual Exposure with tripod, 1/30 sec, F10, ISO 200.
Thanks for looking and C&C welcomed.
Large version added.

Thanks for your help Bill, I thought I was losing my mind there for a minute. I was like "hey where did my picture go?"

John: Glad you were able to get the large version posted. Really neat scene and I like your DOF/POF choice. More DOF would have made the BG too busy. Its a long time until spring for you but you're doing great with the subject matter at hand. Nicely done.>=))>

John,
Glad you posted the larger version. I really enjoy the detail on the FG cattails, and the DOF is perfect to place them in a nice setting with their neighbors. It's amazing how colorful all the brown things appear after seeing them against a blanket of white for months.

Fine detail in this John and a very well balanced composition. Also a good job on the subject to bg separation. I like the image as posted, particularly the mood.

Great detail, John, which shows up really well in the larger version especially. There is good colour here for me - a range of browns, greys and whites which all tone in beautifully. Nice to see this clip from a delightful scene.

Fantastic depiction of winter, John! The dof was a really good choice as it keeps the bg soft and I think having some of the cattails more oof than others adds interest and depth to the scene. I like it a lot.
