Monica:
It is an appealing image: beautiful, active water; good eye contact; and I like the head/body/photographer angle.
I'm curious about how much you have cropped the image.

Very nice; the head turn makes the shot.

These are certainly cosmopolitan ducks. This fellow in indistinguishable from the birds we see in Interior Alaska.

Very appealing Monica. The pose, light, reflections and the motion in the water really make this images.

Monica,

The merganser looks very peaceful in this image, not bothered by your presence at all from appearance. I love the gold tones along with the blue in the water, the great headangle you captured and the nice look at the bird's eye.

There seems to be some noise in the water, not sure what is going on there. If you sharpened the water along with the bird that might cause it. The solution would be to mask just the bird for sharpneing.

Just a minor issue though and easily fixed, I like this as posted.

Such an interesting looking bird, Monica. I wonder what he is looking at. Lovely color and detail. I see the noise that Mia mentions. However, my eyes only detect it in the large version and only then when I magnify it by 200%. (which may say more about my eyes than your image!). I agree though, it does look easy to eliminate. I'd do it using Dfine to avoid the masking job. :toast:
