This photo was taken at the Oregon Zoo. The Lorikeet atrium is one of my favorites. It was captured at ISO 200, f/4 @ 1/400 of a second using at Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 lens at 180mm. I appreciate your suggestions and observations. Thanks for looking. Ray

Raymond,
I like the rich colors and the pose of these beautiful guys. If this were mine, I'd add a bit more room over the heads. Overall a nice shot!

The colors and interactions are very nice. The one bird looks like it is whispering to the other.

Raymond

Lorikeets were one of my favorite birds to see when I was in Australia, seeing them always brings back fond memories.

I love the poses of the birds and the intimate feeling to this image. I'd add just a touch more space above the head if you have it in the original frame. A bit more dof would have gotten both birds faces in sharp focus, especially the eye of the bird in front, but might have dropped your shutter speed too low.

Raymond,
Nice capture! It reminds me of the documentary "The Parrots of Telegraph Hill".

Stunning birds. I would have tried a different angle ( if possible ) so as not to get the BG branch in view, but how can you not like this photo.
A bit more room on top, and its still a winner. :toast:

PS. Re : "The Parrots of Telegraph Hill". I highly recommend the dvd.

The love pose is great as are the colors. Feels like the light was a little harsh? I agree about the dof comment
