I took this over the New Year holiday at our cabin in Central Idaho. The weather had been just dreary grey and not great for photography. On this particular afternoon, the clouds took form and the sun tried to come through, making for some very strange but nice light. I ran out with my camera to see what I could get. When I returned to the cabin, I got out of the car to photography the lane leading to the house. I liked the lines, the clouds, and the scene. I hope you like it too. Comments and criticisms welcome!

Oh...this is an HDR image using Photomatix.

The dark clouds with the light on the snow looks really nice to me. I like this light. The deep snow, road and fence leading to the cabin looks very inviting. The snow covered pines and mountains just add to it. Looks like a great place to spend the holidays.

This is absolutely fantastic. The perspective and the lines are amazing. What a wonderful winterland! You captured the essence of the rural winter.

Makes me feel like I'm right out there in the deep fluffy snow. Love the light, the comp you chose with the leading lines. Well done! :toast:
