Did you hear the one about when it was so cold out even the local lake got goosebumps?? No, neither did I, good. :( sorry! Anyway, this is another recent shot of Stillwater Lake during a real cold snap at a wider/more pano view. I kept the BG in just to try and give it the sense of infinity. Small crops of the LLC and LRC. Think the whites have held up OK. Shot at ISO-100, 1/1250th at 5.6 w/ optical zoom only, nearly maxed. Thanks for looking again, and any C&C.

Very nice indeed Bill, really like the way the little shrub is popping out of the ice. Nice work.

Really like the patterns in the ice and the fascinating forms of the ice avulsions. The bushes or trees look as though they have burst up through the ice. Nicely done.

Thank you folks, just saw this, the cracked ice mounds remind me of breaking egg shells... like the trees are being hatched or something. Oh well... could just be me!

you´re right, bill! looks like the trees are being hatched, quite impressive. man, nature is awsome. I like the natural treatment here, feels like one´s there at the time. framing is nice, imo. those three that don´t have any tree look like igloo´s. nice work.

Bill

I like this version much better than the last. This one engages me better and gives me room to look around. The placement of the trees this time is perfect.
