Male and Female Lawrence's Goldfinches. These birds can be hard to find, and it seems that this year they all came to my house. I've had a number of people come by to see them that want them added to their life list.

Nice seeing both together like this.

Our infestation here in AZ has apparently subsided, and I've only seen a couple of them at the Water Ranch following our last big rain.

Charlie,

How wonderful that these two posed for you close together! I like the soft green background and how well the birds stand out from it. I also like the poses of the birds and the head turns they gave you.

Great shot. To have 2 like that on a perch with a clean background is special.

Lucky you Charlie! Getting both sexes in twin poses is pretty neat. Everything else here looks very good too.

Congrats on getting these rarities to come so close to you. Love how they are looking the same way and the difference in amount of yellow. The breast on the bird on the left (male?) looks either a little hot or oversaturated, but I've never seen this species so don't know for sure.

Cool birds! I would be tempted on this one to play around with PS to stitch them closer together just to see what it might look like. I like them together, but you could easily have each one exist on their own as well. :toast:

Nice backyard birds, Charlie. Excellent exposure and bg. I like the composition in general, though I do find myself wishing they had moved a touch closer to one another-not much you can do about that one! :toast:

I think it is so cool that you got a pair. Love the simple perch, the clean background, and the colors. Would love to see these guys.

Cool that you got them both so nicely in focus. With them coming to your feeders, I assume you could choose your perch and BG. It came out great! As Rich said, we had lots of them here in AZ but not lately.
