Mortar (w/ repost)

The snow that had fallen seems to fill in the gaps between the rocks and stone here, thus the name. This was a sunny, later afternoon shot w/ the light coming from the TLC about. There may be some blown out spots, but I like the contrasting colors and the shadows created. Converted to B&W also, but chose to post this version.

Any C&C welcomed, shot at ISO-100, 1/1000th at 4.0. Thanks for viewing!

While the overall pattern looks promising, I have a hard time to find an anchor in here. Maybe darkening the ULC a bit helps to balance the image a little better.

Bill, have you tried a B&W conversion? The harsh light you had to deal with makes it rough to capture. Just my humble thoughts.

Andreas, thank you for the suggestion. For now, here is a quick crop from ULC and LRC, think it helps a bit.

And Bob, thank you as well. As I said in the original post, I did do a B&W version but I LIKE the contrasts the harsh light creates. Here is the B&W version also w/ a crop. I don't know...

I like the b&w version, but the blues on the original post are very pleasent. I also find the light in the colored more sublte and sweet. I´ll go with the colored, but the repost, works better for me with the crop. nicely seen and done, bill.

The image at first had me puzzled until I opened the larger version and it sprung to life. I would also love to see the larger image in B&W.
