One more shot from Plitvice NP in Croatia. Getting to this place was a tricky thing but I'm glad that I made in there and back in one piece and saw some spectacular frozen waterfalls.
Canon 5DMII, Zeiss VS 35-70mm, Hoya HD Polarizer, Tripod.

Thanks for your comments ... there's a little LARGER version too.

For those who don't look into Man&Nature too often, I've also posted another Plitvice shot there.

Those deep turquoise colors are so refreshing, love that color! Incredible waterfall too - did you get any closer or get any long lens shots? It seems to me like a bit too much space is spent on the water.

Nice capture Andreas, love the mix of warm and cool colors. I wouldn't mind a little more space on top, looks like some nice frozen trees up there.

Very nice shot Andreas, i think what works for me is the big contrast between the ice/snow up top and the tropical color of the water below it. Almost feels like 2 separate scenes. Very nice! Thanks for sharing!

The ice looks really good and I love the blue tones in it. The turquoise water is really pretty, but I think I would crop about 1/2 of it. Just my feeling looking at it. It is a very pretty scene as it is, Andreas. The large version is great to look at!

Nice one Andreas. The water lends this an otherworldly feel. I would not crop it.

Great scene Andreas, something different and refreshing for sure. What about croping a little from the bottom just where that diagonal of lighter water begins?

pretty cool Andreas. At first I was feeling the fg was a little too empty, but the larger version changed my mind.

Neat image. The frozen water has good textures and the water a vivid color. My preference would be for a bit less of the green water.

Looks like a winter wonderland worth exploring. I really like the green water and ice combination here.

Love the vertical lines the trees and frozen falls creates. Could see it with a bit less foreground (eg crop off the bottom), but I love the vertical patterns in this (which goes well with the portrait composition)

@Floris/Stuart ... I've some closer shots (tele - getting closer wasn't possible as I was standing on a wooden bridge here) of this one and the next waterfalls too. I'll post one later.
@Kevin ... I've shots, where there's more space at the top.
@All ... although I prefer the wider version here as it reminds me of the feeling when standing on that narrow bridge, I've posted the 4x5 crop here for you to compare.

Hi Andreas,
loveley image.
Me too I'm in the 'too much water camp' but given the resolution you're working with, a crop shouldn't be hurting too much to obtain a nice print.

Giovanni.

That is great Andreas. You know i am a freak of panoramics, i would have loved to see a horizontal pano of just those frozen icicles. There is so much rythm in there!
Lovely image as it is also, maybe just a bit too much of water, i would have kept some because it adds that splash of colour, but the really freaking thing is in the background and the eye goes and wants to see more of that? Really great idea yours, going there in winter. I am jealous!! :) Take care Andreas,

I'm in favour of the cropped version too. The frozen falls is so visually appealing that it definitely deserves more attention. What a place! Can't wait to see your next image.

Wow the color of that water is so pretty and intense. The detail of the ice is just amazing. I prefer the cropped version which seems to be a perfect balance to me.

Andreas, this is a very nice shot. I think the foreground is not as strong as the background, so i would crop a bit from the bottom. The water has a nice, sort of tropical water color and is a great contrast to the icicles. It's an impressiv shot. Thanks for sharing

That ice is marvelous. The color of the water is just as good. The comp is very well done, Andreas, and the repost crop is even stronger. I hope you took some shots of just the ice as well. Really nice work.

Nice to see both versions now. I do like the crop better, just my taste I guess. A wonderful image either way. Nick

That emerald pool works great with those ice falls. What a beautiful setting! I think I would also like it with a small crop off the left side, so that the visual weight of the snag leaning into the frame is roughly the same as the arched rock/branches on the right side. Other than that, this more than works for me. Good stuff!

these scenes with snow and water of yours are fabulous, andreas. I´ve said this more than once, you´re greens are allways beautiful. I´m going with the repost too, seems more apealing and one can apreciate the details and textures better. great work.

This is pretty freeking cool. Parts of it look like they froze in mid air.
I might suggest a slight crop off the bottom, not quite as much as in your repost, and maybe exaggerate the green channels with some contrast/sat.
