Found this "stuff" this past weekend in the recesses of the Muir Woods National Monument north of San Francisco. Maybe some one will be able to tell me the name of this fungus.

Processed in Nikon Capture NX2, cropped, sized in CS3

D300, 18-200 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Lens, 4s, f16, ISO 100, Tripod

Good environmental shot of the tree, moss, and fungi- the non glamorous end of an ecosystem. Not sure of the fungus, but it could be Aurelia or orange peel fungus. Google it and see.

Thanks for the name of the my fungus - Orange Peel Fungus (Aleuria aurantia) looks just like it.

Very cool, I like the combo of the moss and the fungus.

Very interesting image. The orange fungus brings the greens and wood tones to life.
