Beautiful colors, Ron. Like the textures of the perch as well as the feathers.

The large version of this image is especially nice, Ron. In the small version the yellow parts of the perch confused me about what I was looking at. Lovely pose from this bird and a very attractive image. It's interesting to see that one foot too. Detail looks good except I don't see much detail in the large yellow area near the eye. However, right next to the eye, detail is fine. Could be very fine feathers I guess. The bird is quite close to being centered. However, I'm fine with the composition. Handsome image.

Excellent portrait of a beautiful subject. Great Bg and perch. It's particular and very nice that lichen show the same color of the bird.

Lovely shot of the Yellowhammer Rob. A species I was privileged to see once or twice back home .
The lichen on the perch really does match the bird very nicely

Lovely bird and great matching perch. Discover Mag had a very interesting article on Lichens a couple of months ago. Apparently they may be responsible for much (MUCH) of our colors in nature. Good job.

The yellow is just a tad bright on the neck, but other than that top notch. I agree, the yellow lichen on the perch is a wonderful surprise.

Beautiful shot!
Great feather detail, pose, eye, and perch ! Too bad he didn't cooperate one tad more by putting both feet in sight.
A bit of selective sharpening might sharpen the tail a bit - but not a big problem with this nice shot.

Nice detail Ron . Bit of noise in the larger version - is it a large crop?
cheers

That is one gorgeous bird and the perch looks like it was just made for him. Wonderful.

Ron,
I like the pose of the bird, the great view of that slightly upturned bill, the eye contact and the yellow lichens.
Some of the yellows look a bit bright to my eye, but having never seen this species I don't know how bright they are supposed to be.
It is nice to see that you are feeling comfortable enough to comment more often, commenting on other people's images is a great way to learn and to be more critical of our own images both during the imaging process in the field and during editing.

Love the bright colors and the complementary perch here Ron. Maybe just a touch hot on the yellows in the neck area, well done.

Nicely done Ron. Your composition works just fine for me and I like the way the bird seems to be nestled into the accomodating curves of the perch. You "grabbed" this one very well.
