Pulmonaria

Just shot this after a great time pruning and raking in the cool air and sunshine. No better feeling than accomplishing a good day in the garden. Lots of new blooms and green buds beginning to pop out.

I ps'd this by narrowing the tones and desaturating. Then a little bump of saturation and contrast to lift the blossoms above the rest.

Zeiss 100 mm, macro

Nikon D300, 1/3 sec, F16, no filters, mirror up, cable.

This is really beautiful. Love the color and the comp. Can't wait for spring. My garden remains buried under 15 inches of snow.

Beautiful work Ken. love the complexity in the composition and your presentation. Exceptionally fine image for my tastes.

The blossoms are great, but the greens seem way over-saturated and unworldly from here.
Maybe just MY monitor?

I like the pov, and the dof is perfect. Nice light, strong color, and excellent detail.

Very nice processing, I like the pop of the blossoms against the background. The detail is fantastic.

I like the aerial view, the F16 dof, and of course the stunning detail of this lens. A beautiful flower to have in the garden :toast:

Congratulations on this nice photo of this flower. The imaginary triangle between blossoms is great. I tried to shoot this flower several times last year but got no acceptable or likeable image. Perhaps the leaves in the background are a bit distracting so I think that blurring them a bit more could help to separate those nice blossoms. Just my 2 cents.
