Redwoods Revisited

Been digging through the hard drive lately looking for images that I initially overlooked or never got around to processing. This is from a trip to Redwoods National Park 4 years ago. I had terrible weather and light on the trip and was pretty bummed with my results so I don't think I spent much time processing images from the trip.

I was pretty psyched when I found this image, I like the comp but had originally processed it way too warm, I noticed many of my images from the trip had this flaw. I reprocessed with much more of a neutral white balance and did some selective contrast work on the trunks. I'm pretty happy with the results, curious about your thoughts

Want to go back in late spring for the rhodies and with some newer technology.

I like this very much. I like that the entire image is filled, but in an organized manner. I also like the size and detail in the massive tree trunk on the right.

This is certainly a keeper, Kurt. I was to the Redwoods last spring.
I came up with some good compositions, but for some reason
when I post-processed, I too tended to unrealistically warm some
of my images. I liked the results but got justifiably called on it
when I posted some images. Thanks for sharing.

This really works for me Kurt, processing looks very good. I love the colors and contrasts, not over done at all. I hope to visit this area someday soon... Nice work.

This looks good, Kurt. I like the balance between green foliage and tree trunks.

Beautiful forest scene, sometimes difficult to get a good image showing the redwoods in their natural surroundings and especially their size, you've accomplished that; that fg tree is gorgeous, well done :toast:

Looks beautiful to me. I really like how the brush surrounds the tree trunks. No nits from me.

Sweet image, Kurt. The new processing looks great; everything looks very natural to me. I particularly like the lush greens and the way you filled the frame. It gives you a sense of being there.

I love those giant trees and the warm greens. Don't be too quick to dismiss the warmth. In many cases it is natural even though your brain may not have perceived it at the scene.

Superb composition Kurt. The placement of the trees amongst the green is spot on. Definite keeper in my book. Might try and warm it up a bit (just kidding). Beautiful image.

Feels like deep forest...and I love that feeling! The comp is excellent...and I know how difficult it is to find a comp in deep woods.

I love the comp here Kurt, I can feel the texture of the bark in the main tree. Way to put the viewer into action.
