Another cardinal...this one taken this morning at the tail end of our blizzard. (Yes, MORE snow on the ground!)

Nice winter scene here - I've yet to get a good winter shot of this species even though we have had record snows in these parts. Sharpness is incredible in larger version

I really enjoy viewing the excellent feather detail in this image, one of the things I appreciate most in avian photography I think. I think the bird could use a bit more breathing room all around, very personal bias. Good work exposing the bird and the snow!!!

Really nice pose and feather detail!
Tough exposure here that you handled very well.
I'm afraid I'm bothered a bit by the single eye - the other looks as if it is missing in this particular head turn - or maybe she is winking at you!

a lovely winter scene, Sharon. nice soft light, and exquisite details. I might leave a little more room on the right if you have it.

Very nice shot of this beautiful bird. I must disagree with Jim Dewitt though. I like the male better. They are my favorite bird and red is my favorite color.

The feather detail is excellent here Sharon. Comp wise it feels quite crowded in the frame here and I'd like to see more room on the right and the top in particular.

I must echo everyone else at this point on the wonderful detail and outstanding coloration you've captured Sharon. She looks angry to me....I pity the male.

I really like the soft lighting, Sharon. Very nice feather detail. I am probably in the minority, but I think the female cardinals are more beautiful than the males. That pose is great and I really like the muted colors of the background. Great job.
