Punchbowl #2

Another view of Punchbowl Falls, Eagle Creek Trail, Columbia Gorge, from last Monday. Tried to add a little drama by throwing in a bit of Orton/glow effect on the background. Thanks for looking.

It is looking really nice up there right now..I like the clarity of the water and the glow on the mid photo highlights.. and of course so glad that persnickety downed tree is now gone..

Nicely done, Daniel. I really love all the green here, especially in the water. It all seems to frame the falls.

That emerald green of the water is just remarkable here, love it! The glare at the bottom distracts me... but it does that in every punchbowl image I've seen - cropping that makes it even better for me.

The Orton effect you used works well here. I like the vibrant greens and how the falls seem framed by it the green water and cliffs on each side. I agree w/ Floris that the reflection at the bottom is a bit distracting. This might be even better with it cropped out.

I love the ephemeral light in this scene, Daniel. It really showcases those lush greens surrounding the falls.

This is a new type of renditon for the Punch Bowl. I like it. My only
suggestion is to consider burning the the grass colored boulder on
the left side. Nevertheless, very well done, Daniel.

The orton effect works nicely here. The comp also appears a bit more balanced and harmonic copmpared to the other similar image. I also like how the water looks like here. Really good!

Daniel.

Looks great. :toast:

I see what I think is quite a bit of subtle "Orton" effect. Makes the image dreamier. I think I might be tempted to erase the effect away from a few more areas to make it just 1 notch less obvious and just a notch more subtle (to disguise it a bit). But that is just my preference.

Looks great nonetheless! :toast:

A magical scene, Daniel. The emerald color is beautiful, and the orton has given it a nice glow and warmth. I like the distortion of the fg rocks under the water and the sunlight on the water, which adds a lot to the dreaminess of the image.

Very nice Daniel! I have got to pick up a pair of waders, and then head up there this spring.

I never get tired of seeing shots from this gorge. Love all the greens here. But The bottom two glare spots are a bit distracting. Would suggest to crop that out.
