Ring around the moon

While camping in the Catavina desert in central Baja, I woke up in the middle of the night to find a bright ring around the moon. It was very difficult to frame the moon against these cactii, since it was fairly dark and I couldn't make out the outline of the cactii in my viewfinder. Anyway, after several tries here is what came out...

Daniel,

Very nicely done The parahelia is very visble and the moon is not overbright. Just all around a very good image.

Straight out of some sci-fi novel or movie. Very cool. I love the hints of reflection on the catci.

Very unique. You should do a "strange cacti" series. Neat way to showcase both the cacti and the moon.

Thank you all for the comments, much appreciated. The nice thing about this is that it prints out very clean, taken at ISO 100.

I like the stark contrast and simplicity. Pretty neat you were able to capture the moon's rays. Well done!
