Ok back to the more gentle side. Not much of an exciting bird for me but I was happy with this image as it shows the metallic green on the wings that seems to look black to most people. These guys are nesting now and will soon have babies. I had to add some canvas to the top and a tad on the left side. Full frame

Cheryl,

You did very well to bring out the green sheen on the wing. I like the flight pose, the details, especially in the head & bill and how you composed this shot.

Beautiful flier! And I learned they had a green, iridescent sheen on the black feathers. A gain all around!

Cheryl, this is really nice. Better than anything I have of this species. I am very impressed with the nice light on the wings and the head. Getting a catchlight on this species is really hard. The whites look good too. Very well done.

I like this as posted. A solid flight shot: sharp, properly exposed.

I really like the fact that we have such a fine view of this bird despite the shadow, Cheryl. Viewing the metallic green is a particularly nice attribute of the image. :toast:
