A Simple Sunrise (w/ repost)

Went driving around the countryside starting about 6:15 a.m. trying to find some things of interest. Toward the end of my ride, just enjoyed the way the light was hitting the landscape, along with the twists of the trees. Cropped a bit from side/bottom/top for pano. I have another version w/ just the single illuminated center tree (to get rid of the ones overhanging on the left) and the BG ones, but it really pushes that tree far left of frame. Any C&C welcomed! Shot at ISO80, 1/500th and f-4.0.

Bill, I'm sure the light was enjoyable to watch but I do think the tree on the left is slightly intrusive. Looking at trees as globs, you might want to try to seperate each one from the other. Of course the deeper you go into a forrest the more difficult this becomes.

Hi Steve, thanks for your feedback. I totally agree, and as I was on my way home, this was the only I shot I took of this scene--should have walked around for better angles. But, I have been playing with a squared up crop taking the left trees out of the photo. Better?? Hmmm, not sure as I do like the landscape version, without those trees!! Appreciate your help. :toast:

Bill- I'm a big fan of the square crop. Well done.

I like this scene Bill. It features quite some appealing elements like the grasses the trees and the snowcover. Lines do work well in the middle as well. I agree with Steve that the tree on the left is intrusive. Overall I think you have not used the scene to its full potential - please excuse I do not intend to be rude - oh hey I should have scrolled down. The crop works much better!

thanks Steve and Dietrich. I did not use it to full potential. Hope the crop helps, but it is the only shot from that moment. Appreciate your feedback.

Bill,
Good catch, and nice "rescue" of this pretty scene with the crop.
