Sweet! I like the spruce framing the bird. The overall colors are great too. Good sharpness and just enough light on the face to make it work for me.

Nice shot and a cute bird. I like the piney perch. They sure do have tiny bills.

Excellent shot nick, nice natural framing with the pine needles.Lovely pose, detail spot on and some great colours in the background matching the colours on his flank.I am not experienced using a flash but it looks very nicely lit to me. :toast:

Not as successful as the previous version - the bill gets lost too easily against the black bib for me.

NIck,

Loving the larger version - I think the bird can be lightened up just a touch

I have never seen this one. I am used to the black capped verity. Beautiful detail!

Quite different than the black capped version of this bird I'm used to seeing, Nick! Very fine detail, colors and perch. Nice viewing angle but you could have used a catch light in the eye. [I'm amazed at how long the list of desirable attributes is for a bird image!!] Anyway, this one looks great as posted. :toast:

Nick,

This is a beautiful bird and a lovely image. I prefer the previous image because the bill stood out more but I'd be happy to have either of them in my files because I have yet to photograph this species!
