Had to get out at 6:30 AM to catch the ice and snow in this backyard shot. A small storm had rolled through northern California giving us a light dusting at the 2000 foot elevation. Couple of hours later it had all melted.

D300, 18-200 AF-S DX VR Nikkor, 1/25,f7.1, ISO 800, tripod.

Frosty scenes are always so alluring and you have done well to find a nice little comp. My only nit is the BG. I do wish it was cleaner at least towards the top where the white bg seems to take attention away from the fg whites.

I lived at 1200 feet in Arcata for 3 years, and got a dusting of snow on two occasions. This is real pretty Dan, great delicate features and color. The OOF bg aint helping it any, but really isnt hurting much either and its certainly tough to get good DOF for these shots. I really like this, thanks for sharing!
