White Ibis Juvi

Taken earlier this week at Fort Desoto. There were a good number of adults, but this was the only juvenile there that day. This is one of the rare images that didn't need any correction, and although the complete reflection might have been better, this was one of only about four like it, and I didn't take time to reframe vertically. Larger version provided for better detail.

Really nice detail on the feathers. I like the subtle waves in the water, too. Too bad he is looking away - but they rarely cooperate!

I really like your exposure here Bill. Right on the money IMO. You got great DOF for f/4. I like the waves and the comp. Yes, a better head turn with clear eye contact would have made this image better, but I like the overall feel as posted, as there is enough eye for me to connect with.

I like this very much Bill. Exposure and DOF look excellent. I like the shadow on the water too. Personally, there are many shots where the bird isn't looking at the viewer that appeal to me and this is one of them. I might take some off the bottom, right at the beginning of the body reflection but that's just my taste (or lack thereof) talking.

Bill,

I'm sitting here grinning because I was concerned you might not have had the best of light while in FL earlier this week but I can tell you had that great Ft DeSoto light for this image! Your exposure and dof look wonderful, the light is terrific and I am fascinated by the shadow in the very shallow water, I would crop a little from the bottom below where the reflection of the body starts to maximize the impact of the shadow, water and the Ibis.
