Black and White

In reality this is a lovely green Spider Chrysanthemum.

Somehow today's tasks didn't get done. The camera called; the flower needed my attention ;^)

This was the last picture of the afternoon.

D700, 60mm lens, f/36, 3 s, ISO 160, Spot meter, tripod, remote.

Linear curves on BC and RC layers and a black and white conversion with a blue filter.

Beautiful Carol. I like the well captured light on the white flower. Well done.

Striking image, Carol. Spectacular lighting and great processing to get all of this out of a green flower. Good for the soul-- mine, too! Thanks for the treat.

This is a really fine conversion and image for my tastes Carol. i love the lighting, the partial visibility of the leaf and the placement of the flower in the frame. Gorgeous work.

Carol, let that be a lesson to you about procrastination. This was time well spent and the result is an elegant image. I think the leaf next to the flower adds balance and keeps this from being a floating flower. Anyway, I like it :toast:

Carol, great to see you posting again!
Wonderful detail in this alluring image.

Not sure about the left bit of leaf, though and the 2 lines below it - not as graceful as the rest of the flower, and detracts a bit for me.

Folks, Thank you all for your comments.

I'm learning there are not enough hours in a week to unpack, pay bills, job hunt, work on taxes, and shoot, shoot, shoot :jump:

I'm also discovering that sometimes it's necessary to sit on an image and let it mellow like a pot of soup. I've replicated this Spider Chrysanthemum and I've been trying some different ideas with the new version. I'm not quite ready to post it but I do hope the newer version is good enough to become one of my 2010 significant photographs.

Again, thank you all for your generous comments.
