This wasn't in very good light and a bit soft, so I doubt that I'll print it large, but I liked the looking back pose. Taken earlier this week at Fort Desoto.

I like the pose from the back and the abrupt change in plumage colours. Not being familiar with this species I am guessing that thing between his legs are quite normal and should be there.Lovely water colour too Bill.Very nice

Bill, I like subdued light like in this image. I also like the pose. Your comp works for me, but I might add just a bit more room over the head. The head, neck, beak area looks pretty sharp to me. The back and tail areas lack some detail, I think, tought to tell at this size. Is this a larger crop? Overall, a like the image.

You critiqued this well, and I'll agree that it is a very nice pose. Sharon

I too like the pose Bill - esp with the body leaning left and the bird looking right. The water drop on the bill is nice too.

Bill,

It looks like you made out with the tough lighting situation. I agree the pose is killer.

The pose is perfect in this shot. I agree with your assessment, but also still think it is a keeper!

Very nice. The water droplet really adds to the life of the image, that and the sharpness on the head where it counts.

Bill,

A little soft (not too much) but I like the pose a lot. I also like the water and the concentric ripples, the water droplet on the bill and how it shows this bird is in near breeding plumage.
