These are last year's iris, taken with Canon 40D, 100-400 IS lens. Liked the lighting and low perspective.

Sorry so long between postings. Lost all my images when HD failed and have been busy reconstructing and organizing... now all I have to do is post process all of them! Use a backup!!!!!

Nice "seasoned" shot, Patricia.

Sorry to hear about the hard drive Pat. I lost the only one of my landscapes that I cared anything about in an OS upgrade because I didn't backup first. And I've been doing and managing systems long enough to know better. I'm glad you were able to recover your originals.

This is beautiful. The light is as fine as it gets IMO and the bg is perfect for the subject.

Patricia: I finally got serious about backup last year and am glad I did. So far no calamities but the peace of mind is nice. Great to have you back up and running. This is lovely. Great DOF/POF choice. My only significant nit is the leaf merging with the flower on the right. If it was behind the flower I think it could be a plus. >=))>

Very pretty portrait Patricia. The lighting and color are just beautiful. I also wish the leaf on the right was either not there or behind the flower.

I love the perspective and the color of the irises Patricia. For me, that heavy blade coming in from the right hand side hurts the shot for me.

Excellent lighting and all the details. Nicely done Patricia.
P.s. I use two external HD (one for back-up). I don't store many data in PC.

What a bumper with the HD. This image is just gorgeous and worth all the effort to rescue it.

Beautiful color and setting. A fine image. After reading your problems I went ahead and copied files to my extra hard drive and well as cutting a cd for the first quarter of this year. Thanks for the headsup and getting me motivated to getting some work done. Looking forward to seeing your work again.

Elegant as always Patricia. The leaf overlapping the flower on the right is my only nit. Love the background wash.

lovely shot, Patricia. Like you, I lost a bunch of my images to a crashed HD. I now have 3 externals, burn to cd's and am thinking of trying Carbonite. :toast:

Patricia, I can't say that I like the leaf on the right side, but an overall stunning image. Very well seen. :toast:

Hi Pat,

Its a time ago when i visit the site, now i have some free time and viewing, i saw this picture, realy beautyfull lighting and colors.
The comp is great, maybe the leaf on the rightside is a little disturbing, and is situated before the purple flower.
My compliments for this fine shot.
