I was looking through files for something to post and found this shot from last year. I don't normally like cropping this much, but I think there's still plenty of detail.

about 55% crop
1/350 sec
f/6.7
500mm

C&C welcome and appreciated.

Raymond

you got good light here--I like how well the eye stands out from the black around it.

The trademark blue bill is the center of attraction. Great low angle, decent reflection. I'm not usually a proponent of adding vignetting but the thin border is attractive.

A great low angle and colors Raymond. To me the bird's head looks just a tad soft, but that could be may bad eyes. Overall a very attractive image.

Raymond,
I'd like to see one of these ducks one day. I love the colors, the low angle and the light.

Raymond,

I like how quickly the blue bill grabs my attention in this image, the setting, the typical pose you caught of this duck and your choice of comp.

I like your really low angle here Raymond, I'd consider taking just a little more from the bottom considering it's brightness. :toast:

Thanks everyone! Rich, I'd love to add a Cinnamon Teal to my list, never mind get a good shot. Nate, I'll have to try that. I just didn't want to cramp the reflection.
