Hello Old Friends

I was listening to Rich Mullins as I was posting to the Weekly Challenge, and also came across his song with this title, and found it to be fitting. Like old friends, flowers return in the spring and grace us with their presence. Something I look forward to each year.
Even though these are of a potted plant I bought and had a photo shoot with

Kathy, this is a nice effort but not the best image of yours. The leaf at the right doesn't fit well to this image and the focusing should improve a bit.

Well, I like it as is Kathy. I look, and look, and look. That's the idea isn't it? Great spring post

Kathy,

I like the mood and the softness of this very much but I'm having trouble with the leaf on the right. I can't help but wishing I could see the stem of the flower behind it. I think I understand what you wanted in your comp and it's there but viewed differently the leaf also breaks up the pattern of the blooms - at least for my tastes.

Kathy: My comments pretty much echo Pat. I noticed the leaf even on the thumbnail. This is OK as is but I also would like a more well defined POF. >=))>

Kathy:
Like others, I find my eyes drifting around with this image. If that is what you intended, then you have succeeded.

I like the comp with the backs and front of different flowers Kathy. Nicely done!

Thanks, everyone for your comments. I appreciate the different responses and was curious to see what people thought, and find I learn best from the various critiques. I had hoped to get everything in more focus, but it wasn't happening, so I stopped down and focused 1/3 of the way in, kind of like what one would do with a landscape shot. Had a great weekend photographing these and a couple of potted tulip plants. Took hundreds of pics. The fun part is that each day when I got up, the buds and flowers looked different from the day before - the process of blooms opening up, etc. Will post more.
