Hi guys, how are you today?

I'm returning back to post a photo! now I've few time after planning our next trip overseas, this time will be 9 days photographing landscapes and wildlife in Namibia next june so I'm :jump: :jump:

This photo was taken during our photo trip to colorado plateau at the devil's garden in grand staircaise escalante national monument in Utah.

I liked the way the dry juniper it's holded by the eroded rocks.

Capture in film, Velvia, ISO 50, Canon EOS 33v, Canon EF 17-40 f/4L USM

Best regards

Hey Roberto,
I like the natural framing of the rock which showcases the tree. This would probably also be a good candidate for monochrome. Great job nevertheless

Nice job of framing the juniper Roberto, and I like the texture of the rocks too. I can't help but think it looks a bit underexposed overall though; just a little on the dark side.

One can spend hours wandering and shooting at Devils Garden. This is a unique comp from there that I haven't seen before. Well done.

Good choice to use the rock as a natural framing. I agree that this could be a good canditate for monochrome. Good composition.

Wow, my spot sure changed didn't it?

Nice job. That sandstone is so fragile that each year it looks different.

Very pretty. I've seen other pictures from this place, but no like this. My thought would be to crop a bit from the right maybe making a 4/3 aspect ratio. It de-centers the juniper and make the comp a bit more dynamic. Just my preference though. The light is done very well here regardless of you frame it.

Roberto,

Did anyone mention nice framing yet?

This is very nicely composed and technically executed beautifully. Hard to believe this is Velvia with the amount of shadow detail. The color, contrast exposure are all excellent. And you've got a great sky to compliment the scene too.

My only suggestion is agreeing with Tony's suggestion. The right side is a little heavy and even though there is detail in the shadow, it's still a little dominant on the right. A slight crop of maybe only 10% would bring this in to a nice balance.

Nice work.
