Tulip

My wife purchased some tulips for a baby shower she was giving this weekend and I convincd her not to give them away so I could photograph them. I placed them on a table so they were side lit from a window and used the drapes as a dark BG. This is one of my favorites.
Manual Exposure with tripod, .6 sec, F20, ISO 100, 100mm macro, adjusted black in level adjust, slight sat adjust.
Thanks for looking and all C&C welcomed.

John:
An excellent comp with excellent detail and delicate color. Like the diagonal placement as well. My only very minor suggestion is perhaps more room in the right than the left. :toast:

John: Really nice work on your setup and exposure. You could address Gary's concern very easily by cropping to 5:4 ratio mostly from the left. I do think that would make an already solid image even stronger. Very nicely done.>=))>

Very nice image. Very unjusual tulip colours. The contrast tulip/BG is excellent. Well done John.

Think I would have called this "dancing lady." Very graceful and your comp enhances the lovely petals. Well done!

Beautifully done. I love the colors against the black background. I agree with the crop from the left.

Hi John :wavey: This is really well done. Love the colors and detail. As Bill mentioned. A crop. to 5:4 ratio, would make this even better.

I like this John. Excellent whites mgt and fine lighting. I do agree with Gary and Bill with regard to the crop and canvas changes. Don't really know why to be honest. I attribute it to shooting birds and always trying to leave more room at the bird's front between the canvas edge than at it's back.
