Like the head turn and perch Sandy. I might be tempted to take a tiny bit off the top.
cheers

I am always curious to see how people frame their shots when the body faces one way and the head the other. I played with scroll cropping to try other possibilities and IMO yours is the best.
We don't have this species in the east, so a quick glance at the thumbnail had me expecting to see a Junco. This is indeed a beautiful bird and you did a great job on the exposure. Actually, everything about is right on. Well done.

Black beauty indeed. The catchlight brings all that dark detail to life. Nice job, Sandy.

Lovely pose Sandy, as if on cue. Superb job with the bg, especially what looks to be a twig forming a "V", which follows the line of the perching branch perfectly.

Very nice. Good light on the phoebe and fine exposure. I like the bird's position, the setting, and the background. I too would take a little off the top.

Overall, very nice Sandy. I go along with most of the other comments on this. Just a bit off the top. Nice exposure showing great detail in the blacks while keeping them black. Great head turn.

Really good head turn and nice, crisp detail. I would like the bird a little higher in the frame, but still nice as posted. Sharon
