Least Sandpiper

Canon 7D, 500mm f/4 +1.4x TC. Monopod, sitting.

1/1250, f/8, ISO 400. Evaluative metering -2/3 EC

Crop to 69% (12.5 of 18MP)

Another shorebird from Puerto Penasco, in this case a Least Sandpiper. I'll move away from shorebirds for a while soon, but would like to post a couple more species.

On this one, I like the feeding pose and habitat, detail, and low angle.

Comments and critiques appreciated. Please view larger version if possible.

Another beauty Brian. Great detail and perfect dof. I'm curious what head you're using on your monopod. :toast:

This works fine for me as posted. Nice low view; good background and setting that shows off the sandpiper to advantage. Very nice image quality.

Nice one Brian - you've goy a lower angle this time and managed to show feeding without losing any sharpness through movement.

cheers

A classic Least Sandpiper capture, Brian. Well done. Can't offer any suggestions, except to remind this guy he needs to leave for Alaska pretty soon.

Shorebirds, my favorites and you have captured him beautifully. Nice low angle and a little head turn to complete the picture.
