Song Sparrow 2

This is the same Song Sparrow that I posted a few days ago. I like the repeating shapes of the grass in this one, the full view of the tail and over the shoulder look.

I find myself trying to incorporate more habitat in my photos recently. Hopefully it's an indication of creative growth. I can use one since I'm feeling that I'm getting a little stale and searching for a new direction.

Comments and critiques are appreciated.

EOS 1D,400 2.8 w/1.4 extender, ISO 250, 1/800 @5.6, fill flash at -.7

Thanks.

I like the image for the very same reasons you give. The flash is unobtrusive and the exposure looks good to me. Bravo for trying some other directions. :toast:

I like it too. The bright vertical in the BG is not a plus but the FG grasses are.

Nice one Jerry - love the setting and the way the two grass stems mirror each other. Maybe tone down the oof stem in the background?

cheers

Jerry,

I love the graphical lines the bent stems create in this image and the sparrow's location on the stem it is perched on. I might be tempted to crop some off of the bottom and the left side as far as comp goes. I like the setting, the sparrow's pose and the head angle.
