Grey Fantail photographed in NE Victoria. These friendly little birds are quite common throughout Australia.

Canon 7D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4x, tripod, ISO800, 1/80, f/8, cropped for composition from left and bottom. Noise reduction applied to background.

What great BG colors Simon. I love the overall comp. The bird is sharp in the critical places with nice eye contact and light. Well done.

Great sharp shot Gary. The eye looks a little dark on my computer. Maybe it needs a little selective lightening, or maybe my laptop needs a better monitor.

This is beautiful. The pastel BG makes this sing.

Simon, the pose of the bird is beautiful and I especially like the background, it has an almost water color effect to it that I find very appealing. Love how the bristles by the bill show so clearly and the lovely look into this bird's eye.
