From a beautiful morning a week or so ago, stopped by this local reservoir, the Old #4. It was constructed in 1892 and is a great example of the amazing stone work they did at the time. A beautiful structure. In the background on the distant mountains are windmills. I also liked the subtle line of the retaining wall of the overspill. D-60 ISO-100, 1/ 40th at f-18. Thanks for any C&C. Larger posted.

You set this picture up very nice Bill. I like the POV with the retaining wall serving as a nice curvy line for the eye to follow up to the dam. I like the way you split the photo in half with the dam on the left and old brick stonework on the right. The only small suggestion I would have is that it's a little bright/ reflective. Maybe a CPL would help with that and it would also help make the sky a deeper blue. Gret job, I like it.

As the windmills are extremely faint - I would try a lower angle which would eliminate them from the viewshed. I also would try and get at this location at early or late light as it's quite bright here - the proper lighting could create a really nice image

Thanks John & Luke, appreciate your comments and suggestions. Think I'll wait 'til that brown stuff on the right turns green. And I DID get there a bit later than I wanted to, earlier light would definitely have helped.
