Sony A700
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 200 1/50 @ f5.6
Sometimes I think the leaves of callas are almost as compelling as the flowers. Tried to keep the plane of focus primarily on the leaf edge and the tip. All comments welcome.>=))>

I like the positioning of the leaf against the lily with just a bit of stamen visible. I like it!

An unconventional comp and DOF choice Bill, and you pulled it off splendidly.

Nice change of pace Bill by making the leaf the main subject with the flower taking the back seat to complement it. I like the leading curve of the leaf and very nice detail in the fibers of the leaf as well.

Another great comp Bill and exceptional dof decision. I also think the Minolta is doing well by you. I certainly like the subject but the bg in this is as good as it gets.

Hi Bill A different take on composition that is very refreshing. I to sometimes favour the leaf over the flower. But always chickened out to do somathing like this. Thanks for opening the gates.of inspiration. Beautifully seen and crafted

Bill,
This is brilliant. The comp not only highlights that fascinating leaf, but leaves no doubt about what kind of leaf it is. I often try to get a plant's leaves in the frame with the flower, but this takes that concept to a new level.

Bill:
I like your shift from flower focus to leaf focus. The curves and pattern on the leaf are really alluring. A minor nit is the OOF straight line disrupting the flow of the curve along the left mid portion of the leaf - pardon my 2cent worth.
