Iceberg Sunrise

On a recent photography trip to Iceland, I visited Jokulsarlon lagoon. On the costal part icebergs are slowly drifting out to sea and I encountered this scene which I thought I'd share. Any comments always welcome and please view large!

Beautiful shot Adrian, i really like the mood here. When was this taken ?
you make this place look very tranquil and inviting. I've been there twice and
i know that just aint the case, winds always howling downthere.

Congrats on a very nice capture :toast:

Interesting shot.
You have lovely colors, lots and lots of motion anchored with the static ice and sky,
and a nice intimate composition.

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. This was taken a couple of weeks ago. The weather in Iceland was pretty good apart from the wind that was pretty fierce. I got soaking here but freak waves and had to go back to car to warm up!!!

Very cool how the sun is bathing the ice in light. This is a nice composition and totally believable. Great shot.

I'm curious though, do you have any shots where the sunlight is either behind the ice or in between the two foreground pieces? I'd like to see what that looks like.

Beautiful image, and a tough exposure I would think. It's a dream of mine to visit and photograph Iceland, this just reminds me how much I want to go. Thanks for sharing.

Very Nice Adrian - I love the translucent quality of the ice and the placement of the larger piece of ice on the right. Very nicely composed and executed.

The intimacy in this comp is really special Adrian. Like two companions enjoying the sunset/sunrise. Really a great job all around. Might even try Tk's glow on the rocks for a more dramatic effect.
Nicely done
