Made another trip to the Hill Country yesterday and was completely blown away by the flower displays. We've lived here 25 years and I cannot recall a better bloom. My wife Chrissy tells me the next time I whine about a cold wet winter she'll slap me first and then make me look at some of this spring's photos. This scene is a bit understated but is a classic Hill Country combo with paintbrush, bluebonnets, yuccas, and lichen covered rock outcroppings. All comments welcome.>=))>

Bill,

A little more expansive than your other (fine) images. It's very nice to see them in their natural surroundings. Just like you were having a color explosion here in California this spring. The rocks with lichen is a nice addition, good comp with a flow the eyes follows through the image.

This image (and Chrissy's promise) should bring comfort through some pretty rough weather. I like the flow and color.

Cool image, Bill. I know you are enjoying the Hill country display. I was there several times in the 90's when the display was spectacular. Keep the images coming.

Nice arrangement Bill. I like how the flowers are interspersed with the rocks. I also like the blues at the top. Good coverage throughout the frame.

A very pleasant spring scene. You composed this mix of grass, rocks and flowers very well. The processing looks a bit flat - I think a tad bit of saturation and contrast can help a bit.

Pretty scene indeed Bill, and very well composed, really like the lichen covered rocks with the mix of wildflowers. Beautiful work.

Texas Hill Country is just gorgeous, and this image shows why - such a varied ladscape - rocky, hilly. beautiful streams, gorgeous blooms - oh, how I miss it. Thanks for posting these great images Bill.

Well, maybe its this monitor, but the compression and sharpening are totally killing this, Bill--even at larger size i can barely see the flowers :frown: There may be some dof issues in the bg that arent helping. I do like the mix of red and blue, although a closer view might have had more impact. Wish i could be more positive, i think if you back off the sharpening thatll help. :wavey:
