On a little walk, I had the luck to come near this hare. It had clearly not seen me. But as soon as it heard the sound of the camera it was gone..

Nice shot. The eye contact and expression is interesting. You have captured the moment when he is more curious then frightened.

Looks like he is definitely weighing his options, mainly flight or... well flight. I like the facial expression and the ears. I'm less happy with the busy background and the over exposed fur on the right side. A vertical crop would work for the elongated head and ears that dominates the frame.

Nice eye contact and detail I think a vert would have worked in this image. It would have also reduced some of the clutter in the background.

What a beautiful hare; I have never seen one with such pronounced facial marks! He looks kind of evil though  .The face is perfectly exposed, but unfortunately its flank is totally blown out, most likey beyond 'repair' (meaning cannot be solved in RAW conversion). I agree with other comments that a vertical composition could have suited this well due to the shape of the subject. The BG may be a bit busy, but at least it is OOF enough not to interfere too much with the subject. Toning down the bright areas in the BG will help a lot to make that look 'busy'.

Gary's comments would mirror mine! The quality of the eye is really wonderful.
