I have many fond memories of NPN, and made many very good friends through the experience. This image represents to me an example of that friendship. My very good friend Garth McElroy had flown out to California to spend some time in the sun and we met up down at the Salton Sea. While the two of us sat by the edge of a pond, a life-long shared experience happened to us. You can read more about this at the article we wrote for NPN.

I don't post much to the internet these days, but regularly stop by and check out the amazing photos on NPN. Congratulations on the milestone Jim and Donna. I will always treasure our time together and look back with great appreciation for the wonderful resource you have provided.

I remember reading this article and seeing these photos and being amazed. I've never actually witnessed a falcon take prey - so to see something as incredible of this must have taken your breath away.

Glad to see you are participating again, your photos are too good and your knowledge too great to not be shared.

Hey Bob,
I've drooled over this image for years... and Garth doesn't help either! He and I will be heading up into the boreal camping and shooting in a few weeks which has become an annual thing for the two of us. I'll have to give him a smack and blame you when he asks what that's for! This one has it all..... habitat, behavior, action and beauty, killer image. :toast:

That is one awesome photo, Bob. A great example of nature in all its glory - and being able to capture it and share it is fantastic.

I remember this photo and the others in the sequence, and the story. It knocked my socks of then as it does here again. An exemplar of a predation photo.
