WC 427: The Milky Way

This photo was taken around 8.45pm, more than one hour after sunset. After 60 seconds exposure, I found that I captured the Milky Way over the Apostles.

The Twelve Apostles are giant rocks standing along the coastline along the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia.

I like this a lot. The Milky Way stands out nicely and the glow on the horizon is pretty cool.

Very cool Yan,

Another southern night sky with a little of the land and sea to anchor the image. The glow on the left adds to the image, is that the lightglow from Sydney?

Dear Paul, thanks for your comments. This is in the Great Ocean Road, about 290km away from Melbourne.

The rock formations almost look ghost-like with the 60 sec. exposure on the water. I love the milky way and bright stars but unlike the others, I think it would be better without the glow on the left horizon.
