Another shot from a quick visit to a brook in the deep woods before anything is blooming. Several little plants are sprouting along the stream banks. Some woods horsetails caught my eye as they glowed in the Sun against the dark background of the brook. Then I found this one in partial shade. This is my favorite kind of lighting, with intermittent spots of Sun and shade. I find myself seeking out these lighting situations a lot.

Canon 50D

You're right about the lighting here . . . couldn't be better. I like the background too (is that the brook?). This is very nicely done all around and if it were mine, my only small temptation might be to clone out the blade of grass coming into the frame from the right.

My favorite lighting also. Chiaroscuro adds drama to a shot. I like the dark background here; it really sets off the horsetail.

Sure nice light. Good eye for finding this. Looks like you are crawling on the ground again to get this low angle POV. :toast:

Good eye Wayne. Being a flower guy myself, I probably would have walked right by these splendid subjects looking for flowers to capture. The lighting is supurb. The oog bg looks like an "Old Master's" canvas bg. SWEET. Didn't notice the oof blade of grass until i scrolled down, and I agree with the commentor. My eye was drawn to the oof spout between your two subjects middle bg. I'd be tempted to retouch that out. But it is still a :toast: of a capture Wayne.
