Sun-Kissed Peony

Last Sunday I was visiting the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. It was a beautiful and very sunny day. I captured this image of their peonies in full bloom ... in the full sun. I wasn't sure how the image would look but I like how the sun highlights the petals. I added a Watercolor Filter in PS to soften the petals but still maintained that "sun-kissed" look.

My camera is a Nikon D70, no special filters used, hand held.

All comments, critiques are appreciated.

I think the filter really helps. Nice job with handling the bright sunlight which can be our best friend or worst enemy.

Nice image. I like the comp and the effect you created with the filter.

Excellent use of the filter. Difficult light to shoot in, but you pulled it off well. :toast:

Thanks so much for all your comments. I'm always intimidated when shooting in bright sun so I challenged myself with this image. I will continue to challenge myself and look forward to more critiques. For me, that is the only way I learn, plus to get out there and just shoot. Thanks for taking the time to critique my image.
