Common Terns

Terns in our local colony have had a good year but I haven't taken advantage of that. This one is from last year. It is a food pass between mates.
Canon 1D, 1.4X, ISO 250, 600mm
Thanks for looking.

Beautiful capture Jim! The shadow of the fish and beaks on the terns' wing provides additional depth. This is a great action shot and you can't ask for a cleaner bg.

Nice example of token passing now we're celebrating the Olympics

Not your usual fare, and I'd never have guessed from the thumb that this was a Zipp. A very intimate and unusual composition. I like it!!

Amazing shot! Is the one on the right flying as well? That would really be an amazing capture!

Anyway, it is a beautiful moment captured very well. The wings going in all directions and the heads coming from opposite corners in the image make it very dynamic and unusual. That bit of bright red in the center of the image is a real eyecatcher.

Very nice work!

Jim you've outdone yourself on this composition. Not only is that unbelievable, but the action and technicals are all fantastic. Really great shot.

Awesome shot, Jim. I've seen a colony of common terns doing this in upstate NY, this summer, but I wasn't close enough. Common terns are great birds with all their mating rituals and "fish flights".

I love the light and the action of sharing/transferring a meal here.  It looks like it could be a postage stamp.
