Gold in the Sunshine
by Wayne Jones
Marsh marigolds are blossoming in lower wetlands. I like how they glow in the Sun, so I was not satisfied with the results when I shot them in shade. Instead, I used a flat white reflector to fill in the dark shadows for this shot.
Canon 50D
Sigma 150 mm. Macro
1/20 sec. @ f/11 ; ISO 100
Tripod; Mirror up w/2-sec. timer
Two shots hand-blended for focus
P.S. Did anyone notice that the center blossom has an extra petal? (actually sepals - buttercup family) I was so busy with the lighting that I did not notice that until I processed the shot. I guess it's not that rare.

Like this one a lot. The lighting is just perfect with soft shadows and rich yellow color.
