Art Of Segregation

Out on a family stroll we wandered around the end of Ennerdale Water and I stopped at a wonderful crumbly stone wall covered in rich orange and yellow lichen. I hopped onto a low hummock a few yards from the wall and found that the stone wall, mountains and fields aligned in a strange secular geometry of shape and colour that I found peculiarly appealing.

Very striking composition you found here Ian, - I like this. Great detail of the rocks in the large version. Well-done.

Quite an intriguing and somewhat unconventional composition, which I very much like. Good one, Ian.

Really interesting contrast between the green grassy foregound and snowy blue back. Nice use of the symmetry of all the elements, very attractive composition.

Cool use of geometry here. The contrast between the green grass and snow is also rather striking.

I like the symmetry and overall view Ian. We have a lot of stone walls in New England, but none such with beautiful mountains in the background...... at least that I have found. I also like the unconvention comp here. Well seen and captured especially the wonderful detail in the big view.

This appeals to me because I like the symmetry-tease composition. I sort of wish there were just a little more grassy negative space in the foreground, but I wasn't there, now was I?
